I am a hydrogeologist who has worked almost 30 years in Texas. I've worked at the Bureau of Economic Geology and the Texas Water Development Board and presently work at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment. In addition to aquifers, I love history and the intersection of science and policy. I also love cats and tacos.

the chicken salad shoppe

I can't say that I've ever woken up and said to myself "I'm gettin' a chicken salad sammich today!"

the scone crone [closed]

These scones are honestly homemade evoking the full charm and personality of a rustic country house among the wolds of Surrey Hills with "God Save the Queen" on the radio (quite possibly the Sex Pistols' version).

farmhouse delivery co.

What intrigued us about Farmhouse was that (1) they're local and (2) they team up with local farmers and restaurants within a 50-mile radius of Austin.

picking piquette at the austin winery

It's a great summer drink in that is served fridge-cold, has low alcohol, and is lo-brow where no-one will quietly judge you for putting ice cubes in it.

allandale quick bites (fourth bimester 2020)

As the pandemic continues, I worry more and more about our chow slingers.
