I’ve had a slice of Allday’s Pickle Pizza on my (hopefully not a vomit) bucket list for months, but now Allday Pizza is coming close to me (and, pardon me, you!) at 3720 Ranch to Market Road 2222 in the old Reid’s dry-cleaning space down the hill. I relish this news since Allday is a big dill! Lana’s Caffe, a trailer over yonder in Spicewood, just opened a brick and mortar at 2620 Perseverance Drive in The Grove development. Local heroes Bartlett’s (along with Lambert’s) is taking over the old Threadgill’s in South Austin while Pinthouse opened an outpost in San Antonio. Gopuff is opening a market (with delivery) in ye olde Uptown Modern at 5111 Burnet.
H-Mart is finally making progress with signs up for itself, Tous les Jours Cafe, and the food court. State filings suggest a June-July opening. La La Land Kind Café and Outlaw Pizza are still at it with a likely mid-to-late summer opening.
Yard Bar is closing due to increasing costs, especially property taxes. They will host “One More Round for the Hounds” on May 30th as their last hurrah. And Lamme’s Candies will shutter its doors after more than 140 years in business. Our outpost at 2927 West Anderson Lane is already closed.
Austin CultureMap included Barley Swine and Fonda San Miguel as nominees for Austin’s best restaurant while Churchrow Tejas BBQ made the list for best new restaurant. Eater included tzintzuntzan and Draught House Pub & Brewery as having among the best patios in town, Bartlett’s among the best steak-slingers, and Roya and tzintzuntzan among the nest new restaurants. In addition, Eater included Korea House, Bufalina Due, and Fonda San Miguel among Austin’s best restaurants. Allday won Neighborhood Restaurant of the Year from CultureMap while Barley Swine and Fonda San Miguel made the top ten list of best restaurants in 2026. Bartlett’s, Choo Sando, and Little Deli made CultureMap’s short list for best sammies in Austin.
In other news, Torchy’s turned 20, Amy’s teamed up with Shiner for the seasonal release of Raspberry Summer Shandy (don’t give one to little Timmy), and Eldorado is expanding its current location. Stay hungry my friends!
