Well, it’s been a minute, and there has been a LOT going on. So grab your fork and napkin, and let’s get after it!
La La Land Kind Café is now open at 45th and Burnet. Opening day saw a line stretch out the door and down the block. Outlaw Pizza at 745 West Anderson is now slinging pies! A new Italian place, Cinque Terre West ATX, has opened at 4800 Burnet in the former Gracia location. Taqueria La Guadalupana has rolled in next to Fin’s First Market at 5901 Burnet. If you like concrete and chicken embryos, Urban Egg is moving into the Brutalist space at 7600 Burnet. Gopuff has opened its delivery service from 5111 Burnet. Check out their website to get healthy foodstuffs delivered to your door.
Chi’Lantro at 5222 Burnet closed back in April. Picnik closed at 4801 Burnet at the end of July, but the owner plans to open a new concept at the same location. The sweet, sweet-shop Pflour Shop Bakery closed at 7413 Burnet, but not to fear: Sweet Charli Girl is already here, specializing in gluten-free and vegan baked goods. Bird Dog Pit BBQ closed way back in January, but Yummy Mommy Thai Cuisine is working to open in its place at 4707 Burnet. Sadly, Dos Batos vacated its spot at 2525 West Anderson at the end of August and moved over to 510 East Anderson in the northwestern armpit of the 183/I-35 interchange. Glad they are still around, but that’s a roll to get them pollo piratas. Suzanne Daniels announced in May that she is stepping away from Brentwood Social House after nearly 10 years, leaving the café facing a new owner or oblivion. Yeni’s Fusion is on a temporary annual break.
STILL waiting for H-Mart to open. Back in June, the marters claimed it was “opening soon” and that our location would include Paik’s Noodle (Korean-Chinese noodles), BBQ Chicken (Korean fried chicken), Narrow Street (Korean dishes), and Tous Les Jours (Korean/French-style bakery and desserts). There are lights on in the building, so perhaps they’ll open any day now! Allday Pizza and its famous pickle pizza is still building out at 3720 Ranch to Market Road 2222.
